Description Amanda Warren is in search of a diligent Cost Accountant to be a part of our team based in Sacramento, California. Your role will primarily revolve around maintaining and analyzing our inventory and cost data, preparing accurate cost adjustments, and assisting in month-end closing. You will also collaborate with our IT department on system-related issues and contribute to various internal department reporting requirements. Responsibilities: - Accurately record all inventory receipts and post item costs in the system. - Perform analysis on the average cost of items and prepare necessary cost adjustments. - Prepare, analyze and report on gross margin analysis periodically. - Assist in the closing of accounts at the end of each month, preparing necessary journal entries, and analyzing inventory evaluation. - Collaborate with the IT department on system maintenance and development issues. - Analyze cost accounting data and aid in cycle count and physical inventories. - Maintain and test internal control documentation. - Conduct detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory liability accounts. - Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research, and perform analytical studies with regards to cost analyses and profitability. - Support in special projects as required and assist in internal department reporting requirements. - Maintain the item list in the system and create new items when required. - Ensure accuracy, validity, and timely submission of inventory reports. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required. - Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services is essential. - Ability to use Crystal Reports effectively. - Experience with Epicor software is necessary. - Understanding and experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. - Comprehensive knowledge of various Accounting Functions. - Proficiency in managing Accounts Payable (AP). - Demonstrable experience in Auditing. - Familiarity with Budget Processes. - Ability to handle and manage Cash Activity.
