Position Summary KKR is seeking a Transactions Counsel with experience in bankruptcy and restructuring transactions to join the KKR Credit Legal team in San Francisco.
Responsibilities - Serve as strategic legal advisor to investment teams and provide legal support and transactional project management for KKR Credit investments, including those involved in restructurings, bankruptcies, creditors’ committees and liability management transactions, arising from KKR’s credit investing platform
- Work with KKR Credit investment teams and outside counsel to review KKR Credit transactions, including restructurings and reorganizations, and manage legal issues related to post-restructuring investment interests
- Identify and assist in the management of conflicts, business and reputational risks relating to restructuring and insolvency transactions
- Legal advisor to the business on U.S. bankruptcy law and insolvency matters, including governance issues confronting distressed companies and their investors
- Keep current with transactional and legal developments in U.S. restructuring space
- Advise business on trading in the context of Cooperation Agreements and ad hoc committee involvement
Qualifications - At least 4 years of experience in transactional work at either a nationally recognized law firm or an investment management organization, with a focus on restructuring transactions
- Expertise with in-court and out-of-court restructurings and management of transactions involving multiple creditor constituencies, drafting and reviewing related agreements
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely, with executive presence to advise a range of senior and junior people across the firm
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently and be able to manage and prioritize multiple demands and projects
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team
This is the expected annual base salary range for this San Francisco-based position. Actual salaries may vary based on factors, such as skill, experience, and qualification for the role. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, based on factors such as individual and team performance.
Base Salary Range
$200,000—$235,000 USD
