Electronic Security Commissioning Technician
Columbia, Maryland Position Summary: SCD Information Technology LLC is seeking candidates for the position of
Electronic Security Commissioning Technician . This position is responsible for ensuring the proper installation, functionality, and compliance of electronic security systems, often including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems, in commercial and government settings. They test, troubleshoot, and document system performance, working with design specifications and potentially leading or assisting in the installation process.
Responsibilities: • installing, terminating, configuring, and testing various electronic security components like access control panels, cameras, and intrusion detection devices.
• performing factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT), ensuring systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.
• diagnosing and resolving technical issues with security systems, including hardware and software problems.
• creating and maintaining detailed documentation of system installations, configurations, and testing procedures.
• leading or assisting with project management aspects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
• interacting with clients to understand their needs, provide system training, and address any concerns.
• understanding of low voltage electrical systems, networking, and electronic security principles.
• ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with security systems, including hardware and software components.
• effectively communicating with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
• managing workload, meeting deadlines, and contributing to project success.
